Findings of the growth relationships between baddeleyite and zircon are rare, due to significant differences in the formation conditions of the minerals. A reaction replacement (partial to complete) of baddeleyite by zircon is possible during metamorphism accompanied by the interaction with high-Si fluids. The opposite situation, when zircon is replaced by baddeleyite, is extremely rare in the nature. Transformation of zircon from polymineral (compound) ore occurrence Ichetju (the Middle Timan) with the formation of microaggregates of baddeleyite, rutile and florencite has been found out. The size of the largest segregations of baddeleyite does not exceed 10 microns in diameter. Microaggregates are unevenly related to the rim of zircon with a thickness of 10 to 50 µm, voids and cracks across the grain. Altered zircon rim (a mixture of newly formed minerals) is characterized by sharply increased composition of REE (especially LREE), Y, Nb, Ca, Ti. The composition of Th and U also increases. An overview of the experimental studies on the reaction between zircon and baddeleyite and single natural analogues allows to make a conclusion that the most likely mechanism of the transformation of zircon from ore occurrence Ichetju to baddeleyite (intergrowth with rutile and florencite) is due to  the effect of interaction of primary zircon with high-temperature (higher than 500–600°C) alkaline fluids transporting HFSE (REE, Y, Nb, Ti). This is indirectly confirmed by the findings of zircon with anomalous high composition of Y and REE up to 100000 and 70000 ppm respectively .

K e y w o r d s: zircon; baddeleyite; Ichetju ore occurrence; the Middle Timan.

From the resume (including as well the title of the paper) in general it should be clear, what things have been investigated and where, what methods have been used, what concrete results have been obtained, and (if it is possible) what general conclusions have derived from that results. For methodical papers it is necessary to give a clear and definite description of methods.

The paper should be well-structured and include next sections: introduction (the word «Introduction» is not written), materials and methods, results, their discussions (can be merged with the Results section), conclusion (not separated from the previous text and without special subtitle), List of literature. The subtitles are typed with the capital letter, without dot at the end (semi-bold font). The arbitrary structure is possible for theoretical and overview papers, but they also should contain resume and keywords. The pages should be enumerated (the positions of the numbers – footer, in the middle of the page).

The information on the financial support of the work is provided before the List of literature in the next formulation: «The investigation has been made with the financial support of (name of organization) (project № 00-00-0000).

The Ministry of the Education and Science of Russian Federation designed brief recommendations for the authors for the preparation of the scientific manuscripts in the journals, included in the indexations of the international scientometric database.

Recommendations for the preparation of the manuscripts

Information about authors

The information about the authors should be on the last page of the manuscript and contain the next information (in Russian): full surname, name and father-name (italic), scientific degree, position, the place of work (affiliations), office phone (with country and city codes), e-mail.

Ivanov Ivan Ivanovich – cand. (doc.) of geol.-min. (techn., econ.) sciences, junior (senior) researcher, (associate Professor, Professor) of the … department at the …. faculty, MGRI-RGSPU, Tel. 8-495(499)-.., e-mail:....

Tables and figures

The number of the tables (2–4) and figures (up to 5, each figure should not exceed the half-A4 format of page) should be as minimal as possible. It is not allowed to illustrate the same information in the table form and in figures. Figures and photographs captures, providing the explanation of symbols, should be given not on the illustration, but in the end of the manuscript on the separate page, or in the separate file. They should be comprehend and informative without reading of the paper. Figures and tables should have sequential number (enumeration), which is given in the reference to them in the body of the text (for example, Fig. 1, Table. 2). When there is only one figure (or one table), in the reference the word «Figure» or «Table» is not reduced and given without enumeration.

The figures should be sharp, in color and gray scale modes, constructed with any computer graphic software (Photoshop, CorelDraw, etc). The figures should be given also in the pdf-format. The corresponding files should be named as a file for all paper with addition of the word «fig» and «table» and number, matching the enumeration of them in the paper.

The inclusion of the figures, tables and photographs in the body of manuscript is not allowed.

Pixel resolution of the photographs should provide clearness of the details (minimal resolution is 300 dpi).Tables and figures are printed on the separate pages in the end of the manuscript after the information of the authors.

Literature

List of references should contain all works, cited and mentioned in the text of the paper, in alphabetic order (in the beginning of the work – in Russian (List of Literature), than – in Romance alphabet (References). The amount of references should include - for the full article 13-40 items, for the short communications article min. 8 items, for the review paper/perspectives - up to 80 items. In the review papers the increase of the list of literature is possible with the agreement with the Editorial.

It is desirable, that the List consists presumably of the references to the scientific papers, mainly – published in the last decade. The other variants of references should be reduced to the minimum.

The recommended percentage for the foreign sources of the literature:

  • at least 30% for the items not elder than 5 years
  • at least 30% (with the exception of historical reviews), percent of the self-citation - less than 20 %.

In the body of the paper a reference to the cited source should be enclosed in the square brackets with the order number. For the case of several sources they are separated with commas in ascending order, for example, [1, 3, 5] or [3—7] for the numbers, going consecutive. Surnames of the foreign authors are types in the body of the paper in Russian.

The list of references should contain all the published works cited and mentioned in the paper in the alphabetic order. When refer to an invention, the next information is required: the author, the name of the invention, the year, the number and the page number in the «Bulletin of inventions». The references to the works, being published at the moment of the manuscript submission, are not allowed. Bibliographic description for the references should be given in a following way: family name and initials of the authors, the full title of the work (or the title of the collection of the articles), the publishing place (full journal name), the name of the publishing house, the year of publishing, the number of pages (for non-periodic editions) or the range of the pages (for the collection of the article), for periodic editions – the name of the journal, the year of edition, the volume, the pages range. In the text the references should be shown by the number of the source according to the list of references enclosed in the square brackets, e.g.  N.M. Strakhov [3].

A complete list of all authors should be presented in every bibliographical entry. Please put an «et al» notation after the third name if cited paper has more than 15 authors. Do not shorten titles of your citations. Shortened journal titles should correspond to the MedLine catalogue. If the journal is not indexed by MedLine, please provide its full title.

When referring to the journal, the adopted abbreviated name should be given, it is also concerned to the names of the cities (Moscow — M., New Your — N.Y., etc.). The reference to the electronic publication is only allowed in the case, when the paper is not published in the printed form.

The surnames of the authors of the sources are printed with expanding spacing.

For the paper it is necessary to give DOI (when it exists) after the page interval.

The List of Literature in Russian should be designed in accordance to the GOST (state standard) Р 7.0.5-2008 (http://diss.rsl.ru/datadocs/doc_291tu.pdf) as follows:

Some features of the paper texts

The dimension of all the values, used in the paper, should satisfy the International system of measurement units (SI), e.g., m – metre, kg – kilogram, min. – minute, etc. https://www.dpva.ru/Guide/GuideUnitsAlphabets/GuideUnitsAlphabets/SIRFEU/

The using of abbreviations of words or names are not allowed, besides the standard abbreviations of the measures, physical, chemical and mathematical values, names, terms, etc. The using of measures and values should be given according to the GOST standard.

In the decimal fractions the integer part is separated from the decimal part with a comma.

The only «direct» quotation-marks are allowed in a text.

The numbers up to the ten (including) are spelled by words. The percent mark (%) is not separated by space from the value (e.g., 50%).

Between the numbers there is a dash without spaces, e.g., 1–3 km.

Chemical compounds should be specified according to the nomenclature recommended by IUPAC (1979). Instead of the names of simple substances, it is allowed to use their formula, for example, sodium chloride – NaCl, carbon dioxide – CO2, etc. All other non-standard abbreviations should be explained in the text at the first mention.

When describing paleontological objects, Latin names of taxa of species and generic rank are written in italics, in the names of zones and other stratigraphic units – in normal font.
